Summary

Friendly Support Project - creation and popularization of the system of volunteering in the HEI and bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; combining the forces of each person through education, training and volunteer activities to make the community, society and the state safe, strong and happy; preservation and strengthening of human values, realization of the rights and obligations of citizens; ensuring personal growth through awareness of human potential.

Part of the project is the initiative "Adaptive Sports for Veterans," daily at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs thanks to joint cooperation with local authorities of the Kirovohrad Region on a permanent and systematic basis classes on physical culture and sports with war veterans (combatants) are organized, taking into account the individual approach to each participant, an accessible schedule of classes is formed for the following sports: athletics, boxing, weight lifting, wrestling, table tennis, gym and outdoor sports ground. Weekly these sports sections are visited by war veterans, combatants and persons who have received a disability as a result of the war. With all war veterans, appropriate briefings are held on personal security measures; during classes in physical culture and sports, the presence of qualified trainers who are university employees is ensured.

Sports are part of social interaction, where war veterans can meet friends, meet new people and feel part of the community. Sport helps war veterans overcome physical and psychological trauma, restore lost self-confidence and find new goals and motivation in life.
